Nur für den Fall, dass Sie "GenericAssets" oder "MonitorAssets" vor der Installation von LOGINventory Version 9.2.0 angelegt haben, ist der folgende Text relevant für Sie.
Die Funktion der "Generic Assets", bzw. "MonitorAssets" wurde mit Version 9.2 abgeschafft und stattdessen durch "Peripherie-Geräte" ersetzt. Peripherie-Geräte bieten im Gegensatz zu GenericAssets bzw. MonitorAssets mehr Funktionen, benötigen aber eine Lizenz für "Add-On Assets".
Alle Geräte, die als MonitorAsset oder GenericAsset angelegt wurden, können weiterhin so verwendet werden - es gibt keinen Zwang zum Umstieg auf Peripherie-Geräte.
Es ist zudem auch möglich, weitere GenericAssets anzulegen, solange sich noch mindestens ein GenericAsset in Ihrer Datenbank befindet.
Das Anlegen von MonitorAssets ist in Zukunft nicht mehr möglich – diese Funktion wurde komplett durch Peripherie-Geräte ersetzt. Bereits angelegte MonitorAsssets werden in ein Peripherie-Gerät umgewandelt, ohne dabei eine Lizenz zu benötigen.
Peripherie-Geräte verfügen im Gegensatz zu GenericAssets über mehr befüllbare Felder und bieten die Möglichkeit, die Übergabe und Rücknahme des Geräts via Smartphone zu dokumentieren, also auch Etiketten für diese zu drucken. Bei GenericAssets ist dies nicht der Fall.
Falls Sie versuchen, die Detail-Seite eines GenericAssets im WebViewer zu öffnen, erhalten Sie folgende Fehlermeldung:
Um von den neuen Funktionen zur Dokumentation der Übergabe und Rücknahme profitieren zu können, empfehlen wir daher, die GenericAssets in Peripherie-Geräte umzuwandeln, wofür eine kostenpflichtige Add-On Asset-Lizenz in passender Stückzahl erworben werden muss. -> Kontaktieren Sie uns gerne für ein Angebot!
Achtung: Falls Sie sich für das Umwandeln aller GenericAssets in Peripherie-Geräte entscheiden, können keine weiteren GenericAssets im Nachgang mehr angelegt werden, da diese Funktion damit deaktiviert wird.
Falls Sie sich gegen das Umwandeln entscheiden, können weiterhin neue GenericAssets angelegt und editiert werden. Ein Anlegen von MonitorAssets ist jedoch in Zukunft nicht mehr möglich.
Um Geräte umzuwandeln, benötigen Sie eine Add-On Asset-Lizenz in passender Größe. Dann können Sie über das Ribbon-Menü "Neues Asset" den Dialog zum Anlegen von neuen Assets öffnen.
Wenn Sie in diesem Dialog auf die Meldung klicken, die Sie auf die Möglichkeit zum Umwandeln der Geräte hinweist, öffnet sich ein weiterer Dialog.
In diesem Dialog können Sie die umzuwandelnden Geräte markieren und dann durch einen Klick auf den Pfeil oben rechts diese Geräte umwandeln:
Achtung: Diese Aktion ist dauerhaft und kann nicht revidiert werden!

Only in case you have created "GenericAssets" or "MonitorAssets" before installing LOGINventory version 9.2.0, the following text is relevant for you.
The function of "Generic Assets", or "MonitorAssets" was abolished with version 9.2 and replaced by "Peripheral Devices" instead. Peripheral Devices offer more functions than GenericAssets or MonitorAssets, but they need a license for "Add-On Assets".
All devices that were created as MonitorAsset or GenericAsset can still be used as such - there is no obligation to switch to Peripheral Devices.
It is also possible to create additional GenericAssets as long as there is still at least one GenericAsset in your database.
The creation of MonitorAssets is no longer possible in the future - this function has been completely replaced by peripheral devices. Already created MonitorAssets will be converted into Peripheral Devices without requiring a license.
In contrast to GenericAssets, Peripheral Devices have more fields that can be filled and offer the possibility to document the handover and return of the device via smartphone, i.e. also to print labels for them. This is not the case with GenericAssets.
If you try to open the detail page of a GenericAsset in WebViewer, you will receive the following error message:
Therefore, in order to benefit from the new functions for the documentation of transfer and return, we recommend to convert the GenericAssets into Peripheral Devices, for which a payable Add-On Asset license has to be purchased in a suitable quantity. -> Please contact us for an offer!
Attention: If you decide to convert all GenericAssets into Peripheral Devices, no further GenericAssets can be created afterwards, because this function will be deactivated.
If you decide not to convert, new GenericAssets can still be created and edited. However, it will no longer be possible to create MonitorAssets in the future.
To convert devices, you need an Add-On Asset license of the appropriate size. Then you can open the dialog for creating new assets via the ribbon menu "New Asset".
If you click on the message in this dialog that informs you about the possibility to convert the devices, another dialog will open.
In this dialog you can select the devices to be converted and then click on the arrow in the upper right corner to convert these devices:
Attention: This action is permanent and cannot be revised!
